ROV operations are becoming more interesting as we begin testing in real world situations.
This weekend we began exploring the wreck of the HMCS Yukon which rests in approximately 30m of water off the Southern California coast. While intended to be an artificial reef and recreational dive site, unfortunate events led to the wreck lying in a more dangerous position and location than planned.
Low visibility, current, and potential snag points provided good challenges to test the BROV2’s maneuverability. I’m happy to say that it handled the situation well and we’re looking forward to getting back to this site and others.
